Welcome to Bamboo Source

Bamboo - Its mystery and wonder captured my attention when I was seven years old and I watched as my Anole lizards made a freedom run for our bamboo privacy hedge never to be seen again. Every time I see a Golden Bamboo (Phyllostachys aurea ) hedge, I wonder how those little guys made out. Since then, I've traipsed through bamboo forests from Sonoma, California to Indonesia, Thailand and Hawaii.

My house in San Francisco is located in what neighbors now call the "Bamboo Belt" due to both the sunny micro-climate and the grove I've planted in my unusually large back yard.

I imagine you have found your way to this web site because bamboo has somehow captured your attention too.

This site will be growing and changing throughout the year. Originally bambooSource was intended to be a starting point for finding other bamboo related sites on the Internet (see the "Resource List" where there are hundreds of links to choose from). Plans are on the drawing board for something more extensive. Come back now and then to watch its growth and participate in this internet community.
